WITH the region’s best bridal suppliers on show this month, brides-to-be won’t
have to travel far to find the perfect gown.
The Geelong Bridal Expo will include local flowers, cakes and invitations and a fashion parade will showcase this season’s bridal wear..
Anne Teven, owner of Bridal House Geelong said brides can expect to see a mixture of traditional and contemporary gowns, with designs that include sweetheart necklines, long bodices and “lots of frills and lace”.
“Girls in Geelong seem to be very up to date,” she said.
“The slimline is elegant but a lot of girls seem to feel like its not quite bridal enough…….brides want to feel special.
Managing Director of Bridal Expos Australia, Tadas Adamavicius said the expo is unique as it showcases the local bridal industry.
“Its not about Melbourne. It’s very, very much about Geelong”, he said.
The Geelong Bridal Expo will take place on Sunday, February 20 at Deakin University’s Waterfront Campus.

THE trend for burlesque glamour has made its way into the chapel.
Following the release of Cher and Christina Aguilera's new film, Burlesque, even brides are joining the theatrical trend.
Melbourne bridal designer Mathieu Salem said it was fun for brides to venture beyond the usual designs.
"Every bride should make a statement and look like a siren on her big day," said Salem, whose couture designs will be on display at the Melbourne Bridal and Honeymoon Expo on Sunday, January 23, at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.

It was the case of maidens of another kind when Bridal Expos breezed out to the MCG for the Boxing Day clash.
Four stunning brides, with all the elegant trimmings, showcased their unbridled affection towards Shane Warne at the beginning of the cricket clash between Australia and England.
With banners reading “Text Me Warnie” and “Woo Me Warnie”, the beautiful brides hoped to create an impression on the ex-spinbowler, without even using Twitter!!
Warnie might have been bowled over by the whole experience!
Australian comedian, Glenn Robbins, was chuffed by the visual spectacular and was happy to pose with the four maidens. The cameras were flicking wildly and we also got coverage on Channel 10 news and SBS news. We were all thrilled.
The beautiful gowns were graciously loaned by Imoda Emporium in Armadale.
